Hi Mike,

Just to clarify why the VCC requested the results be remove.

Your 'Climbing Tech Tips: Bolting in Australia' published the full table of results but only provided a link to the PDF document which was the explaination of the results. The concern was that lazy readers may only read the table of results without going to the PDF to read the explainations. The VCC thought that people may misinterpret the results if they do not read the text.

For example the table of results shows that the Glue in Machine bolts had a very low axial strength. What the results table doesn't tell you is that it was the bolt plate that failed in all 10 tests, not the failure of the glue or the bolt.

My recollection of the VCC committee discussions is that the VCC had no problem with you publishing the report in its' entirity or providing a PDF link to the report in its' entirity, but we did have a problem with the table of results being presented without explaination.

I think Chockstone is a great website and a great place to give and receive information I am sure that the current committee would reconsider the situation if the results are presented with the explaination. Not my call though, I'm now off the committee.
