It seems to me like the whole helmet thing is a bit like the smokers/non-smokers thing. Some people seem to think that because they are of a certain opinion that everyone should be. Its just like telling a smoker that they shouldnt smoke just because you dont. Same goes with helmets, why tell people that they should just because you do. Of course its smart advice in both cases, but each to there own

I dont wear my helmet often, i think that it is smart to wear a helmet and respect people who do, but ultimately it is my choice. I dont think it is anyones business to tell me that i should or shouldnt wear one, just as i would never tell people not to wear a helmet. At the same time if my belayer requested i wear a helmet i would happly put it on.

Ultimately i believe it is every climbers own decision
