One thing i can say is there is a constant call for more people to enter comps both lead and boulder. I am all for this and in total agreement.
One thing i cannot understand is;
At the nationals on the weekend there was a $50 entry fee payable by 4.9.06. If you had not paid this by then and you wished to enter 'on the day' (9.9.06) or on any day after the 4th you were to be charged $150.
This is highway robbery - no two ways about it.
I understand the need to have numbers sorted etc, and number of competitors is needed so as number of belayers needed and support staff etc can be worked out.
BUT
A $100 'penalty' for registering onthe day is bloody ridiculous and i for one know of at least 5 climbers who would have entered 'on the day' had it not been for the $150 fee.
Yes i am having a whinge but i feel a 'late fee' of $25 would have been more appropriate.
