It seems that many of the top climbers still lid up where necessary on the hard stuff (mainly trad or alpine) (See Dave McCleod on the new E11 route recently and many others)
I don't think that sport climbing will every really necessitate wearing a helmet (my view). I would suggest that a harder grade often indicates a blanker or overhanging wall, so theres less to hit on the way down. |
