Interesting use of statistics on “passive smoking” Gremlin. All they show is that there are 2.5 more smokers than passive smokers in 100 000 who get cancer. That’s if those statistics are even correct. If you have a look at the WHO site, you’ll see that half of all smokers will die of tobacco related illness, and that cigarettes kill more people that AIDS, drugs, road accidents, murder and suicide combined.

You’ll also find that tobacco is responsible for 90% of all lung cancers, 75% of chronic bronchitis and emphysaema and 25% of heart disease.

Cigarettes also appear to make people delusional – I had a guy with blue hands and feet (very close to getting gangrene – like what you see in those TV commercials) tell me a few weeks ago that after 50 years of smoking (since he was 7!) tobacco had not affected him like it does other people! The guy also had heart disease and emphysaema!
No one is telling you to quit smoking Gremlin, but if you smoke – make sure it’s in the privacy of your own home (and not around kids) so that other people don’t have to suffer because of your filthy addiction, and make sure you don’t leave any butts when you go climbing.
