The best style of aiding, certainly that which was being pushed in Yosemite, was doing routes 'clean' i.e. hammerless ascents- No bashing in anything or if you have to, as little as possible. And minimal drilling - Hooking as much as possible. With the advent of tiny gear more clean ascents became possible, but these were much bolder, trouser filling affairs.
I guess in other terms of style, faster ascents would be the thing to go for. |
