Don't know if anyone else has notice the bouldering potential on the sides of the new eastlink freeway overpass walls which are all made up of variously featured interlocking octagonal concrete pieces which extend horizontally for tens of metres and vertically for maybe up to 10 to 15 metres as well. The gaps between the individual hexes are wide enough to accept a nut or small camm giving rise to the possibility of leading some of the higher sections although I don't know what the safety factor of trad pro placed in concrete cracks is? Not very safe I am thinking. At any rate the combinations of these varied concrete features which are placed in random patterns means there will be loads of potential for traversing on vertical walls. The feature of the concrete are fairly prominent but are on a variety of angles so it might be possible to find some challenging problems?
