A good post, Pete & sums it up pretty well. Gyms do have to take action to reduce a particular risk if it can be done. Two falls from 10m+ are two serious incidents. In a perfect world people would always take care of themselves, take responsibility for their actions, make sure they were competent with their equipment, etc. If this ban makes people think about safety and using their gear as its supposed to be used, its already worked to some extent.
