While it is very easy to cut a rope with another rope (using the second rope as a saw) I don't see a big issue with clipping two ropes into the same biner because the amount of rope out will be rougly the same, hence while one might stretch marginally more than the other, the difference in the rates of ropes going through the last biner will be very small, and is only an issue when both ropes are actually loaded.
If you do feel compelled to clip both ropes for a good reason, then that good reason probably outweighs the reason outlined above not to. |
