I got into climbing with my son via his 9th birthday party, then started with gym memberships, then outdoor with a guide, Chris Peisker took us up Syrinx on Nick's 10th birthday, Dalai taught us to lead indoors when Nick was still 10, then we did an outdoor lead course with Louise Shepherd when he was 11, he took a lead fall on Camelot at the first crux which Louise & I thought was good as it gave him a new respect for climbing. The problem is that his younger brother, sister and my wife have now vetoed climbing holidays so its mainly day trips and the gym, although we're off to Nowra with the 2 kids from next door and a couple of old kids (heydad) while the other 60% go to Sydney.
