An interview with Inglis and Hillary was shown on ABC 7.30 report. Inglis basically said that problems on Everest arise because of people going on cheap expeditions that provide little in the way of sherpa and guide support up high. Those that go on expensive well supported expeditions (like himself) have a better chance of success and survival becuase of the backup support. So I believe that what he is saying is that if you go on a cheap expedition without a guide don't expect anyone from an expensive expedition to help you out cause you were stupid enough to think you could get up there without guides and sherpas holding your hands and dragging you up.

Everest is now an ugly place. Deaths everywhere, rubbish everywhere, thefts at high camps, too many egos, too many people. A big pile of shit.
