What I was trying to do was draw a line between boldness and recklessness. I think there is a difference,
and maybe it's to do with motivation - maybe creative vs self destructive. In the article it mentions Osman
loses motivation for climbing hard when someone onsights his hardest route. This suggests to me that
he's not climbing for himself as much as to impress others. It seems like his motivation is external. Heinz
Zak's solo of Separate Reality comes to mind - he said he spent something like 15 years preparing for it
mentally, and warned anyone else not to do it unless they really wanted to. It seemed to me that his
motivation came from within.

I think it is less simplistic than saying "life is inherently risky, so any risky thing you want to do is fine".
