mate and I had epic on seventh pillar, after spending 8 hours to only get 2 pitches up we decided to abseil of the bolts in the horizontal slot on taipan. Fixed double ropes, threw them off, had a friend on the ground confirm they were on the ground and then in a dehydrated, hungry daze, checked, double checked and then triple checked and then double recheck with a quadruple recheck and then a double budy check all with a fading headtorch before we committted to the abseil in pitch black watching the light of horsham spinning around us ( our only visual cues and the night was pitch black) got to ground with very shaky legs.... the other half of the story involving jammed ropes and jumars is a whole other story....
