I've used a pair of Scarpa Cinque Terres for several years now and happily clip them to the back of my harness and have never found it much of a problem. Climbed the recently discussed Bucket Bunnies Buttress, 260m, grade 18 on Sunday and also wore a small pack with water etc.
At Frenchman's Cap I did the (cliff) appraoch in Tevas (and socks he! he!) and put them in my backpack for the climb.
I think you just need to get used to carrying stuff. |
