I understand what you mean and I agree that in many respects our road toll is quite low.
The main point I am trying to make both in terms of the environment and road toll is that we could do a lot
better with a shift in attitude. No matter how careful we are, people will still die but it doesnt need to be as
many as it is now. Same thing with our environmental impact.

Just consider the above statistic in another way. Assuming the fatality rate is consistenly .0069 % per
year. If we live on average to be 70 then that is 70 times in which we have a .0069 % chance of being
killed. (edit: i realised that my stats calc. was incorrect and have deleted it.)

As far as the whole car/Toy thing goes i have no problem people enjoying driving or liking their cars my
issue is with when they drive like dickheads or waste heaps of fuel. And you dont need to spend much
time on the road to realise how many people do both.
