Despite being a generally environmentally conscious lefty leaning bicycle commuter, I have one major weakness for motorsport: rallying. There is really nothing like seeing very skilled people punting turbocharged sedans sideways through forrests.*

Two observations: park at any major climbing spot in the Grampians and the odds are that you will see a couple of Subarus. L series, Liberty, Outback, forrester - you name it. Subies are dispropportionately owned by outdoorsy types. Park at a spectator point at the Rally of Melbourne and you would swear that Subaru had 90% of the car market sewn up. I am aparrently the issing link spanning the two demographics!

* the only thing better than seeing it is doing it. Unless the driver is about to stack it into a tree, in which case spectating is much better.
