Hear hear bloody hear. This nicely sums up the solipsism of the geek-tending climbing set who seem to have a developed the idea that their wafflings, dribblings and polls on a website somewhere constitute 'the way' of all climbing and consensus of climbers generally. In lieu of people taking themselves so seriously, is it any wonder that many of us 'lurk' on this particular forum rather than post? Perhaps we're not interesting in upping the noise-to-signal ratio with still more dribbling.

To some people a hand-written note in the window of the climbing shop 8kms from the crag represents a far more relevant and credible information dissemination vehicle than some internet forum somewhere.
