Troppers Creek, Chinmans track. pohlners road, Rosses Gap- Yesterday clearing of the park along Rosses Gap road started. A strip 30mtrs wide was cut along the side of the road into the Park. The area was to be burnt on Monday to make a fire break, but due to the rain at present burning is on hold.70% of the park has gone. Park is left to burn, to save property. In some areas it is to hard to fight the fire.
6 yrs ago I watched the Stapleton fire roll over the range and saw the devestation, the loss of wildlife was horrific and again I have been watching the fires take hold. It is a scary sight, we have been watering down our home along with neighbours and just waiting and waiting. Its not over yet, could add up to 90% of the park burnt out by fire by the time the fire is put out.
