Yes, sorry Robert it was a bit of a knee yerk reaction from me. I was, in a small part, involved in Wade's Wolgan guide so I am familiar with the huge amounts of work which goes into guide books.
I'm a guide book junky and eagerly anticipate any new guides and I'll often purchase them without any immediate trips to the area on the agenda. However, as a Blue Mountains based climber who's only made two trips to Buffalo in the past 4 years I probably won't fork out the $60 for the new guide.
I'd be interested how many copies will be sold from shop shelves at the suggested retail cost after the VCC members have all bought their subsidised copies. Even at the members price of $42(?) personally I'd think twice (but buy it after all... )

Just as a matter of interest is does anyone know the cost the the world's most expensive guide book? Probably one of those UK grit bibles...
