quikky trippy:

knocked off work at 2, headed around to scott's (of pic of the week fame a while ago, wearing the red beanie) leaving his place at 3. got to bundaleer around 6:30, with the dark clouds above looking very ominous. upon my assurance angular stays dry in rain, we head up as the thunderstorm begins. halfway up, it starts pouring rain, thunder and lighting follow. but angular is completely dry when we arrive. soaked, i grab the draws, and the dogging session of putting the draws on the route acts as our warmup. scott also warms up working out the moves again. we had both been on the route about 2 months earlier. unleashing the physique, i manage to nail the crux move, then the dyno, then yell and grunt my way to the chains. scott has another attempt, but fading light see's us retreat.

next day head up, and scott warms up again on the route, almost ticking it that shot, falling just short on the dyno. i chuck some draws on skullthuggery as a warm up. scott jumps back on angular, and in a much finer exhibition of controlled climbing, brings up his first 27 tick too. i then tie in again, and manage to resist pumping out high up on skullthuggery for the tick.

head back down to the gap, where scott's holiday villa is. i change some light bulbs, attempt to fix the stove, and watch some cricket over a few cold ones while scott mowes the lawn. jump in the disco and off to campground boulders at stapylton, where i managed to pull myself up race eater. scott comes close, with one foot movement coming between him and a tick (its the switch from the heel to the toe hook for those who have been on the problem). back to the gap pub, then to the villa to watch some telly and down some more celebratory beverages for our days efforts.

get up late this morning, fix a few more things, clean up, and drive out to hollow mountain. dump some shit at the cave about 12:30 ,and head to loopeys, where scott gets back on his nemesis problem, a V8 with some austrian name. having previously fallen of the last moves a number of times, he was keen not to leave without the tick for the 3rd time, and cranked his way to his 1st V8 boulder. back downb to the cave, and i force myself into trying rave heart again, having almost done the first hard move the last trip.....so still had a long way to go. inspired by scotts efforts, and cracking a can of bundy half way through the attempts, i finally hit the pocket in the roof, and a couple of moves later, my foot spits off. hissy fit follows. finish the can of bundy. pull on and topout. RAD times.

drive back, stop at georges for fish and chips in ararat. listen to sarah blasko and spiderbait.
