You're right it doesn't "cause" psychosis. Nothing "causes" psychoses, but there are people with predispositions to them (in fact anyone can develop schizophrenia). Marijuana acts as a "trigger" - especially when used by young people whose brains are still developing.
I'll have to get back to you about the research. I'm working 6 days in a row and trying to do my thesis - and only really go on the net when I'm procrastinating :P

I’m a registered nurse – and I’ve also done courses in substance abuse and psychiatric nursing, and consequently I get a bit worked up when discussing this topic
