Leading a Traverse |

Hello,
I'm pretty keen on leading extended traverses - I'm just curious, there's some traverses here in Adelaide (as I'm sure there are elsewhere) where if you come 'off route' you find yourself in some very difficult terrain.
If you are left dangling on a traverse route after whatever causes you to come off - if you are unable to climb back up to where you fell - what's the standard? Would people prussic up then get the belayer to pull in the slack once you are on the climb again or do people know of an easier method?
Cheers
Phil
