Doug was good in Sydney too. Personally I reckon $25 is a little steep (the venue, which had sold out for Simon Yates had quite a few empty seats) but the slide show did last for about 3 hrs including into & auction interludes) Doug had an interesting take on bolts although I don't know if it's totally relevant to Oz it certainly gives food for thought. He suggested that on a trad pitch you're concentrating on the whole of the pitch, taking your own responsibility for placing pro, whereas on bolted routes you're only concentrating between the bolts, or something like that. And hey, I scored a headtorch too, so I did get value for money after all!
