I dunno about whether he did or didn't - but that Indian news report didn't seem very objective - more like it wanted to stop anything trumping the Indian Air Force record. I'm not sure who to believe.
I'd say I landed on the South Col if I was facing a bloody huge fine for landing on the top. There's a video of the landing I've seen somewhere on the web. I guess if anyone has been on the top (or South Col) they'd be able to tell the difference - but not me. Looked like a summit to me, but of what?
