Peter, Jevon and I entered the ASCF boulder comp at Cliffhanger at the weekend. CHanger have done an excellent job with the bouldering cave. Although the cave is on the smaller side of things compared to Vic Ranges, it sure makes up for it in shape, quality of holds (all new!), air conditioning, lighting, CD Player and a once piece mat. Sorry if it sounds like a commercial but the setup is quite impressive. Peter and I arrived a little late but it didn't matter because the cave was FULL - The juniors were still in there. Once they had finished up there was enough room to get into some serous cranking!
There was an excellent variety of problems with only a few gimmes for the grade.

There wasn't a large amount of entries. I can only think that it could have something to do with the entry fee ($30) or perhaps a low profile. Either way, I think it could have become a difficult if there were more people in a small cave such as this.

All in all an excellent comp. Results are on the Cliffhanger site. I have the dubious honor of coming last in the Open. Look for no improvement real soon..........
