I don't know about a sedentary job to help with climbing recovery etc, my experience was the other way around. I'd recommend a manual job. Coming from a desk based job and trying to keep up with my tradie mates (electrician, fabricator) is tough. These guys train their hands and arms all week and get paid to do it. They are smart enough not to get overuse injuries and get paid pretty well when they can swing a good contract. Enough money to go on decent length climbing holidays between contracts, and they are fighting fit for the holiday without trying. I was at my peak of climbing fitness when working in a heavy engineering workshop and only climbing on the weekend, now I need to train during the week and I climb like a pen pusher.

It depends if you are physically up to manual labour (age, energy levels, old injuries etc). Get a job in building or demolition, throwing bricks and concrete into a skip all day will get you strong and fit. But take care with it, pace yourself, it can break you too.
