It amazes me the way we program ourselves.
Here is a thread about a guy who is doing amazing things with his climbing and the main focus is on how easy he has it and that it's OK for him to do this because (insert BS reason).
Really this is another way of saying, "well I can't see myself doing this because (insert reason that is perceived to make your situation different to Tom's).
C'mon, if you make the "high achievers" an exception to yourself then the end result is that you'll never be a "high achiever".
Is this guy ticking multiple 31s because someone has thrown him a few bucks for comps and some rops and draws. I doubt it.
Is every kid his age ticking these grades? No.

So what is it that makes Tom... tick? Why is he really doing so well?
Can anyone shed light on this, what are his motivations, his inspirations, his training, his philosophy, his method.
I'd really like to know these things so I can learn from his success and maybe it will help me improve my climbing. Focussing on his sponsorship and age won't help me, it just separates me from him and lets me justify my poor performance and ensures I won't feel the need to make an effort to move from my current level.

So who knows a bit more about Tom's climb to his current training level?
