there was a small article in the age travel guide on the weekend, pg 2. it spoke about a chinese team cleaning up the lower slopes of everest. it also mentioned that they were sending up a highly equiped team (u'd hope they were highly equiped anyway) to survey the summit and 'correct the false reading' that the westerners made when they measured it. also because it is growing, they want to get an accurate measurement in the modern day. interesting...
