Yeah you are right about the cold at Tarana. Sorry for being unclear: When its one of those drizzly, low cloud (everything wet) kind of days in the MtVic/B'heath area you can often head to Tarana and enjoy a good dry day. It's still cold but not too bad as the rocks catch the sun and you can get out of the wind behind them. Lake Lyle is a good spot to camp if climbing at Tarana for a couple days.

Despite the chest thumping, you will have a lot of the cliffs to yourself during the cold winter days. If you get lonely head to the warmth of the crowded cafes, and listen to our tales of hard climbing... ;-)

Heed the warning about thieves. We had our car boot broken into and had a full rack (near new camalots/metolius gear), gortex, toolbox + + pinched from Sublime Point carpark a few years ago during the middle of the day... cnuts.
