I've just had an update on the situation at Tenneriffe. From what I hear the prision has been scrapped and now will be situated in Gippsland. The land around Split Rock will be set aside as a culturally significantly site and protected under land for wild life. I've been told all access to split rock will be banned and a substancial fine imposed on trespassers. Fortunately there are only four climbs at split rock - two crappy unprotected boulder problems and two offwidth cracks of dubious quality. Not a great loss.
