nahh the requirement just means that they have to meet certain standards interms of sharp edge test, drop tests, shethe slipage and so on. These standards are met but the crappy ropes don't do much more. The standards say nothing much about general handling general lastability ect.
My edelrid conforms to these standards but also handles very well, and is wearing far better than my last rope. and very inportant Great colour to!
Alot of climbers i know say just get the cheapest rope you can they are all certified! I did this for a while but got sick of kinks and my rope getting fuzzy and loseing its dynamic properties quickly. |
