I like to get my favourite shoes re:soled. It's cheaper, $50 re-sole Vs $120 pair of new shoes. You can get quite a few re:soles out of a pair of shoes before they are trashed without compromising performance.
I hate 'breaking in' new shoes, it sux. You have that period where you foot hasn't bedded inproperly. This makes it hard when you are trying to send your project.
I have a pair of shoes for warming up/gym climbing in and a pair for hard stuff.
I have never had any troubles with re:soled shoes, I'm just not too big on the re:rand though, the shoes seems to loose a little shape? I try not to let my shoes get that bad.
