On a good day with a good partner, 300+ metres isn't out of the question at Arapiles (trad routes). Ceratnly 800+ metres is possible on a 3 day weekend. I like to climb fast though and like to make the most of my often limited time on the rock.
The absolute best I have done would have to be in the states on some of the 700+m free routes. These involved climbing all day (dawn till dusk) and often involved simul climbing some of the easier pitches. Often these routes will contain several difficult pitches seperated by moderate/easy pitches. On the opposite end of the spectrum I spent all day doing 2 pitches when caught behind slower groups. Oh well that's all part of the Yosemite game |
