Power to weight ratio or more specifically, grip strength to weight ratio is the key. Yes, the stereotypical climber is usually portrayed as wippet thing (eg..Dave Graham, Garth Miller) but also remember there have been beefcakes who can crank. Wolfgang G was about 80-85kg when he sent Action Direct. Klem and Toni (who put Grampians Bouldering on the world map) both were about 85kg when they were out here. It's all good and well to have big muscles, but you have to train them to work (maximum recruitment). Being lean means you have to carry less excess baggage up the rock. You can still eat you cake, you've just got to get some aerobic activity to burn it off. Johan
