I agree Hex,
i guess i should have mentioned from what i could gather about that 82m route, it involved a lot of traversing, ie IMO contrived 82m route.
If it was 82m from bottom to top and no avalable ledges i would agree a route should be "straight through" not stopping at a hanging belay.
Any wally can traverse 82m, though not at grade 9b :)
