Gear Route Onsights |

I have been doing a lot more “gear” climbing recently than in the past. Out of interest what are peoples opinions / what is the “norm” in regards to info on gear required for a route.
Sure its pretty obvious when you may need RP’s or a “number 5” cam, but in terms of general routes where you require maybe 4 or so cam placements, is it considered “blowing” the onsight if you know that you only need say a 1.5, 2 + 3 cams and therefore leave the rest (the weight) on the ground.
Maybe someone knows what the thoughts in the UK are on this.
