If permanently fixed holds (espcially natural rock) are to be used, how about casting them straight into a poured concrete panel. A bit like putting stuff on a cake.
Then hoist up the reinforced panel, tilt it to the desired angle, and set it in the ground.
The chopped rubber for landing zones should be available from tyre retreaders. They basically cut it off the old carcasses, probably only a few dollars a tonne. The other thing with using a cast panel is you can texture it as much as you want. |
