Let's hope this thing all goes ahead - it'd be great to have Burnley back. My suggestions:-

Wall surface:- Could Citylink help by sourcing some sound barriers from their freeway construction contacts? Some of the surfaces on the Eastern and SE freeways are pretty good even without holds. If steel framing is used - it's probably possible to tilt the things for the 30 degree overhang. (These could be super expensive though).

Soft floor surface:- There is a fantastic public climbers park in Seatle which has textured free standing bouldering towers. The ground surface is chopped up recycled rubber (car tyres?) which would be easy and cheap to source. It would be great to get the design details from this project. Anyone got any contacts in Seatle climbing clubs?
One major criteria for any surface at Burnley would be dog-poop-proofing.

Lighting:- While we are putting Tim completely out of business - can we get lighting installed as well? It'd greatly improve the safety of passing joggers and cyclists. What about some big foam stretching/warm up mats, bolted to the floor? What about a coffee machine, mini bar, and disco balls. Ooops - I'm getting carried away.

Count me in for free contruction labour - long live Burnely!
