Thanks for the feedback - I was merely curious to see what people actually do in practice. I guess the way to respond is "Most of the time I..." or "if possible I recycle"

Good on you! Depending on how gross stuff is - I try to do the same.

I think you'll find a lot of councils don't put recycling bins in remote places as the risk of contamination is too high.
Regarding taking stuff out on the bike - I assume you would have already brought the material there on the bike right? And drunk/ate the contents - so it's only going to be lighter isn't it?

Business Waste UK say that while blokes take out the bins, 'women are better at recycling', with Essex University saying women for husbands to follow the rules.

Sadly the ABS don't break recycling attitudes into gender - otherwise we'd have more to go on.
