Pat, My experience is more hanging off the sides of buildings or pipe work. On a seperate line we use a bosuns chair made from a car seat base attached to a sheet of ply. Ply to reduce wear on rope and keep seat base rigid. Knee pads and soccer shin guards help as well. But it's heavy. Hence seperate line. Not great for carry in.
