Although we might complain about the cost of camping at Mt Buffalo, Christmas bookings still sold out on the morning they opened, So people are prepared to pay. If you can put up with the drive, there's very nice camping about 20 km up the Buckland Valley at the right price. We stayed at a place called Ah Young's last month. It might fill up with bogans at Christmas but was great in October.
