there are plenty of options to deal with the problem - but it really depends a bit what exactly the problem is. Kieran - maybe you can expand a little.

Is it that
a) the bins overflow during busy times,
b) they are in a prominant position and unsightly,
c) they cost money to empty or
d) the rubbish escapes and ends up littering the camp ground?

the solutions I would suggest for each
a) have an extra rubbish collection during holidays/busy times. the extra camp fees should pay for this.
b) move them somewhere so they aren't in your face
c) if the current fees don't cover collection put them up a doller or two
d) I haven't seen much evidance of escaping rubbish generally but I don't think removing them altogether would solve it anyway

I'm happy to take my rubbish home with me but don't think it would make the campsite any cleaner. A couple of signs asking weekenders to do this should reduce the quantity a lot. I agree that they are unsightly and think they should be moved out of the way.
