There is a new "route" which has been negotatiated with the 2 landowners whose private property we had previously been crossing (via the rail corridor). At the usual carpark, rather than going down the bitumen road past the gate, walk a few metres East of the road (still within in the carpark) and spot the White/Red marking tape (and the white reflectors) and follow the trail down to the usual road near the big tree, then continue as usual. We checked it out on Monday, and though it still hasn't "worn in" yet, it's a pretty cruisy meander down to the big tree, especially with a lot of the "wall of tree" vegetation gone because of the fires.
