good thread champ...this time of year if your motivation is waning who gives a crap? I havent climbed (fallen off anything really trying) seriously since easter...sure i'm now looking like a seriously fat arse lardy butt... but go skiing, snowboarding, mountainbike riding and surfing, have dinner and hot chocolates with your mates and dont even think about climbing, then before you know it the snow is gone, the weather starts to heat up and you dont even think about motivation, you just go climbing coz its what you do. I find if i have to think about motivation then it's time for a break. If you just find yourself at the crag or gym and dont even have to psych up your just inherently excited to be there then alls good. Even the amazing Wolfgang had flat spells. Remember we can only really peak probably once or twice a year. Plan it out a bit...know when you wanna peak and enjoy it and when you wanna rest and enjoy it... |
