A fine effort indeed. The approach is about 18 km so they probably humped 4 loads each which would give you +/-18 x 7. It doesn't work out exactly like that because you carry more to the halfway point and less all the way to the base. A soloist might carry 7 loads from Windy Lake at halfway, for example.
Thor is pretty bad ass to climb, some of the rock is pretty good, but never like El Cap, most isn't that great and sometimes you're pounding copperheads into kitty litter when its overhanging, snowing, at 3 AM. Tons of rockfall, the most in the entire valley. Twenty 60-70 meter pitches over really featureless rock will get you to the top and the last 1/3 of the wall is East side of El Cap steep. If you get hurt up there you're hosed.
Everybody should aim to visit here sometime even just to backpack or bag peaks, the place is an awesome hang in the summer.
