I agree with Ed - boudering is one sport and roped climbing is another. They can be compared only in terms of the fact that with both you get obsessed with bits of rock, but in terns of the grading systems - forget it. Different events. I think I can climb - I'm not a great climber, but a climber. Put me on a boulder problem - I'll have a fun time, but at the end of a day its a great day if i have actually sent anything at all. They are different sports - its not just lack of a rope - bouldering as far as I can tell is much more subtle that climbing - due to its intensity - it's condensed, so the little things make huge differeces - the "wow i think if I drag my pinkie finger on this particular pebble and weight my right outer toe I can hold the hold for a millisecond while I move my other hand" just isn't there with roped climbing really.
