Insurance- Antarctica skiing and climbing

I have read all the insurance forums, and figure this is right up there with base jump coverage ie nonexistent:
IHI BUPA ceased covering Antarctica last year
Insure4less will not cover Antarctica
Various UK and USA brokers dealing in adventure sports seem to exclude Non residents and interestingly their exclusions vary for country to country with Australia having many exclusions (why is this?)eg World Nomads
I am working my way through local brokers but no-one seems interested.
Short of moving to be resident in the UK has anyone got any suggestions?

Perhaps send a PM or email to Damo666 (Damien Gildea) . I think he probably has the most experience, of any current Chockstoners,when it comes to Antarctica. He might be able to help.

Ask a guiding company who guide Antarctica, like Adventure Consultants, who they steer their clients to.
Become resident in NZ and use NZAC insurance.

LOOK at BMC you may have to be living in the UK when you take out the cover.
Austrian Alpine Club, you can live anywhere in the world and become a member and get cover.

There is likely to be a boat load of quacks and the mountaineering objectives not as bad as stuff I try in NZ, all of which I have pointed out. We could probably manage an appendicectomy or two if necessary! I have pointed out I would expect to have a LARGE excess for retrieval costs. Still no brokers biting.
Austrian Alpine dont cover Antarctica.
You have to be in the UK to use BMC and I dont think they cover Antactica. The Brits are using J Payne, which has residency requirements.

Antarctic skiing and sled trips can be covered for Australians by this: https://chartistravelinsurance.com.au/chartis/Content/Plans.aspx?PID=INTCOMPAUST
but it does not cover climbing.

I know at least one Australian climber this season used a combo of regular travel insurance for the minor stuff and Global Rescue for the serious bit: https://www.globalrescue.com/why.cfm

More updates (hopefully this will help someone else in future):

Travelex : only for US residents of if booked through US company who enter an arrangement with them

Cas and Jonesy: too busy replying to adoring fans or perhaps eating to regain weight (:P, I only emailed them yesterday )

Chartis: The only company in Australia I could see that doesnt exclude Antarctica but doesnt cover climbing (or anything to do with ropes)- do they know about glacier travel? Nor do they cover sailing. Not interested in discussing extended cover.

Global Rescue: Not an insurer, but do cover rescue, and repatriation if you require hospitalisation. Are currently reviewing their ability to offer a Polar service. But the most helpful company yet.

And finally a lead: MHG which does cover climbing to 4500m it seems, and sailing and Antarctica but with maximum cover total of $50 000.

50 grand?!? That'd barely get you minimum chips and a few potatoe cakes in Antarctica, let alone a rescue!!!

Yeah but after messing yourself up with injuries, at least you could have some fish and chips delivered. That would be quality.
