Pretty much says it all.
I love the photoshopping to remove the rope in one of the pictures

What a cracking story. Where can you buy one of these "elasticised ropes"? They sound great!

So they're just using a standard climbing rope and swinging off like the deathswing in the blue mountains?
I laughed at the video: "Daredevil adrenaline junkies dabbling with death".

The comments are pure gold too. This has to be a winner:
>Where are security? This is not funny! This should be charged & illegal to attempt to do such things. Thus is really concern issues.

I wonder who put the "ring bolts" in at the top? Also are they correct in saying whilst climbing is banned at NH, that this is ok?

I think its actually the fall back position in most POM's if its no mentioned as okay its considered banned until proven otherwise.

Doesn't NP&WS have a blanket policy outlawing pretty much anything considered to be 'adventure activity' that they don't like?
~> I wonder where this bit fits in?
>But the dangerous antics don't stop there - the thrillseekers must then scale up a rickety fisherman's ladder to get back up to the top.
;-)
By the way, this topic is a repeat of a recent post in another thread, but is probably worth keeping separate anyway, so that vilification of the perpetrators doesn't contaminate worthwhile efforts in building harmonious relations with authorities, if indeed that can be achieved at all...

Lucas Townsend (reporter) & Mitch Cameron (cameraman) for that article, wouldn't be climbers by any chance?

I like ''then they come back up via fishermans' ladders'' (paraphrased) - probably the dodgiest part of the whole exercise...

f---ing ridiculous. Another of our favourite after-work freefall fixes burnt by glory hungry rookies and sensational bullshit reporting :(
and yes, the ladders are FAR sketchier than the jump

What the fuch is it with Gen Y and their need to record everything? Those photos are hilarious, 1 dipshit jumping, 4 dipshits filming!

they must have been using dynamic rope because its stretchy. whilist im a fun person seeking adventure. why do this. what would they call it. its sort of like the minjin swing in Cairns. or a bungy swing done feet first (swinging upright).
