For climbing packs because of the tear resistance and weight high tenacity nylon is the stuff. The original and best known is 'Cordura' by Du Pont, but most companies use Asian knock-offs. It has about fourteen times the abrasion resistance of cotton/canvas. Suggest the Black Diamond 'Stone' pack at about 40 litres. If Paddy Pallin have any left they are probably at bargain prices. For real luxury (the best harnesses in the world IMHO) try on an Osprey...
