DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION
Aoraki, New Zealand
Temporary position
VRN: 12/2701T
The Aoraki Area is a great place to live and work if you’re a climber or
skier. Some of New Zealand’s best outdoor terrain is at our backdoor. Steep
alpine rock and ice, awesome glaciers and nearby ski fields are just some of
the features of the area. Why not leave the bustle of the city behind for a
season.
We are seeking two people with proven skills, especially in mountaineering.
You will be team members of the rescue team during the summer and you will
also be involved in maintenance of hut, track and other facilities. These
are temporary positions commencing 1 November 2004 to 25 March 2005.
Your ability to keep a cool head, effectively manage risk and make
well-reasoned decisions is important. Practical hands on skills in
maintenance of visitor facilities are preferred.
